While studying Creative Writing and English Literature at Sarah Lawrence College in New York, I nurtured my passion for working with children at a nearby school. I was a Pre-K classroom assistant at Yonkers PS 30 for three years—my primary role was to co-lead lesson plans, engage children in problem solving games, and direct small and large-scale art projects. Additionally, I tutored middle schoolers in reading comprehension and math. Being exposed to a range of age groups across different communities has exemplified how eager to grow young people are. It is such a rich experience and I am eager to continue at BISC-SL!

Being the oldest of five and growing up with several young cousins, working with children has always been a cornerstone of my life. After babysitting and nannying for several years, I decided to step into the classroom in college when I participated in a mentorship and tutoring program working with elementary school students. Through this program, I discovered a love for working with students, and I have not looked back.

I hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Fashion Design from Leeds University. After working for a UK-based fashion company since 2008, including several years living and working in China, my husband and I moved to the USA in August 2019. This coincided with a decision I made to take a career break, but I have long held an interest in getting more experience working in education, having worked in nurseries and childcare prior to university. I was delighted to have the opportunity to join the team at BISC-SL at the start of February, and working with the children and staff has so far been every bit as rewarding as I expected it to be and more
