Nicola Jones

British International School of Chicago, South Loop | Private School Chicago

Art Specialist

British International School of Chicago, South Loop teaches students to think critically and develop a wider understanding of the world we live in. Students here learn how Art and Design contributes to the culture, creativity and wealth of our world. I believe that working in an international school with students from a wide variety of cultures means that students acquire a rich understanding of the diverse world we live in.

After receiving my Post Graduate Certificate in Education, I gained valuable experience working as a Teacher of Art and Design for seven years. During this time, I was appointed Assistant Faculty Leader for the Creative Arts Faculty. Prior to this, I was a Student Pastoral Leader for Year 7. In 2013, I graduated from Hope University receiving an master's degree in Teaching and Learning.

In my spare time, I enjoy creating and making artwork, and visiting art shows and exhibitions. I like to travel and explore new cities and places, always taking every opportunity to learn about different cultures and people. I have visited many countries across Europe and America, and I am looking forward to discovering more about the Unites States.
