Ruby Dilmamode

Ruby Dilmamode

ICT Specialist

I was inspired to become a teacher from a young age when I was a prefect and a mentor at school. I am really enjoying a new and exciting career on the other side of the world, in a job that I truly love.

I am a born and bred Londoner from a small town in East London. I have worked as a carer serving the elderly community, and skills learnt during this period assist me in my teaching career. After I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in computer science at Middlesex University, I decided to move abroad and got an opportunity to work as a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) teacher in South Korea.

My academic work started in Busan (South Korea) in 2006, when I started working in a Kindergarten/Elementary School lecturing more than 200 adult students in Dong A University. I have also worked in both public and private sector schools with classes with over 35-40 students in Elementary and Middle school. I taught TEFL and Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) as well as ICT Basic Skills at Dong A University, and I was also involved in creating the syllabus for the new courses and special classes such as Preparing to Move Abroad. I finally left Korea after four years of teaching in 2011 to travel and start my teacher training.

BISC is unique in the passion and enthusiasm infused into the specialist teachers, who strive to create interactive and highly differentiated lessons. At BISC we also place a huge emphasis on the global classroom and inspire the students to aim higher.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time socializing with my friends and family. I also like spending my time across a range of hobbies, such as reading, creating apps and learning language. Some of my other favourite pastimes include swimming, founding a successful Korean club, cooking and baking.
