I spent 8 years working and growing as a teacher in the state sector in the UK, delivering an engaging and exciting ICT and Computer Science curriculum to Year 7 – 13, as well as being an outdoor education leader and helping to run the Duke of Edinburgh. After 8 years in the UK, I decided I wanted to combine my passions for teaching and traveling and move to an international setting.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy keeping active, traveling and doing outdoor activities. I love a national park, especially a good long hiking trail in nature with awesome views and scenery all around. I often go to the gym and try to keep my cardio up with 5-10k runs on a regular basis. As an “IT guy” I also like to take part in some fun computing and technical hobbies such as video gaming, photography, and editing. I sometimes just like spending time with friends and family, going out locally, and finding something new to experience or taste.
This school is different to all others I have worked at because…: It will allow me to work with a vast range of people from different cultural backgrounds and deliver a curriculum that is not restricted to the National Curriculum expectations of the British government. At BISC-SL, I believe I will be able to engage students with the newest technology and inspire them with understanding the intricacies of the technologies they use and the direction that technology may be going.
