In August 2018, I made the leap to Nord Anglia Dubai and relished my time at an outstanding school in a diverse environment. In my eight years of teaching, my experience examining for two different GCSE exam boards and for the IB Diploma Program has also proven incredibly beneficial, helping me develop an insight into how students can gain the very best marks in both coursework and exams.
Outside of the classroom, I’m a huge culture vulture and look forward to soaking up the best that Chicago has to offer. The ability to watch live music and theatre has obviously been curtailed recently so the reopening of venues is tremendously exciting. I also love a good cinema trip and am a particular fan of documentaries that shine a light on social issues. Clearly, I would be unsuited to this profession were I not an avid bookworm and I have recently been astounded by both A Gentleman in Moscow and Wolf Hall…among others. Finally, I’ve recently become immersed in the world of baseball (Go Cubs!) but have long been a passionate NFL fan and cannot wait to see Justin Fields light up Soldier Field in the fall!
This school is different to all others I have worked at because…
…it is located in the heart of one of the most exciting cities on the planet. Opportunities to apply classroom learning to the world outside are immense. The student-to-teacher ratio means I can really get to know my learners and tailor my lessons to support each and every one.
