Physics & Chemistry Specialist | Head of Science
My passion has always been to engage people in the wonder of the world around them, and this drove me to become a science educator. The opportunity to work Chicago at BISC is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share my love of science in an incredible school while experiencing life in a different country.

Chemistry Specialist & Global Campus Coordinator
What sets British International School of Chicago apart is the sheer enthusiasm of all the students. It is so rare to find a school where every single person, student or teacher, has a real and deep love of learning. The atmosphere in every lesson, regardless of subject or age, is driven and ambitious. It is an exciting place to be, and I am proud to play my part in what the school does.
Biology Specialist | Secondary Clubs Coordinator
At British International School of Chicago, I have had the opportunity to work across the Middle and High School, which has allowed me to enjoy a fantastic experience working with students at varying stages of scientific discovery.
Physics Specialist | Managebac Coordinator
With two degrees in Physics, saying the subject is a real passion of mine is an understatement, and I firmly believe Physics is accessible to all.
Science Specialist | Assistant Head of Primary School, Academi...
I really enjoy working at British International School of Chicago, South Loop and feel it offers a unique experience for students. Developing and inspiring learning for each and every student is the number one priority of the school; lessons are differentiated and students are inspired through fun, challenging and interactive learning opportunities.
Science Specialist | C.A.S.E. Coordinator
I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland but moved south to study at Newcastle University where I graduated with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. I taught for three years in Edinburgh before moving to teach for four further years in Wimbledon where I have also been Head of Year 8. Outside of school I enjoy playing football and hockey and I also coach both of these sports in my present school. I enjoy travelling and have travelled across Asia and central and North America. I have also visited 22 U.S. States so I’m hoping to tick a few more off the list living in Chicago.
Biology Specialist | Head of Year 11
After graduating from Cardiff University with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology I moved to Manchester University where I researched methods for investigating how muscle cells are produced in mammals. A thesis of my research led to the award of an MPhil before I then began my PGCE to become a high school biology, and middle school science teacher. I started my teaching career in Salford and Bristol in the UK, including several years focusing on post-16 education. I have also taught in international schools in the United States, and France. I have been involved with the IB Diploma Programme for 6 years, including 4 as an IBDP Coordinator.
Outside of school I like to explore new places through travel and hiking. I’m an avid follower of current affairs, bringing this interest to my roles with various MUN groups. In addition, I can often be found in the concert hall or the opera house indulging my love of live music and theatre.
