At the British International School of Chicago South Loop, we believe that our dress code helps us to develop a sense of pride, identity, and belonging.  Wearing the BISC-SL logo develops pride in our school community and makes us feel part of something bigger than ourselves. When out of school on trips, it provides our students with an easily recognizable identity and invites students to take pride in their appearance.  Our uniform also provides a sense of community and unity among same-age peers reducing the possibility of social issues associated with appearance, and increases students’ respect for each other’s character and abilities.

Uniform apparel varies by year group and season, and includes polo shirts, blazers, cardigan sweaters and dress shirts. In lieu of a traditional school uniform, students in High School wear business attire. 

Spirit Day takes place every Friday and is an extension of our regular dress code. On Spirit Days we celebrate different aspects of our community by wearing school spirit wear. Spirit Day aims to bring together our students of all ages and unites the school through our "Bulldog Pride".

Parents can purchase items that require the school logo from Tommy Hilfiger or Lands' End. All other items can be purchased from the retailor of their choosing.

All students also wear a P.E. uniform with an emblem that corresponds to their individual House color.
