1. Happy Learning
Our main concern is that your child's schooling is a happy experience. Happy children are successful and ambitious learners who will achieve their full potential.
We offer a welcoming and positive learning environment where everyone encourages each other and celebrates achievement.
2. Excellent Curricula
We personalise our education to meet the individual needs and learning styles of every child. With such individualised attention we offer a progressive approach to each child's learning. We blend the best elements of British and International curricula to create a learning programme that develops your child's potential and hones their talents.
3. Dedicated International Teaching Staff
All of our class teachers and subject specialists are highly trained and qualified. They have been selected for their passion, expertise and commitment to teaching the young.
4. Beyond the Classroom
All year groups are given the opportunity to continue their learning outside the classroom. Visits are usually linked to the IPC Curriculum to bring the topics to life. Our Year 5 and 6 pupils enjoy residential trips. Theatre and Music trips are also organised to encourage an early appreciation of the Arts. We also plan to introduce a range of new sports themed trips including skiing and a football trip to Barcelona and Madrid, which will include stadium tours and friendly matches against local schools.
We welcome many visitors throughout the year who offer master classes in sports and other cultural activities. Authors, sporting personalities and even our favourite story book characters often pay us a visit.
Our list of extra-curricular activities is extensive and includes horse riding, sailing, golf, arts and crafts, drama, dance and sport.
Music plays an important role and we offer all of our pupils a comprehensive peripatetic music programme with lessons available during the school day or after school.
5. Central Locations with a Family Ethos
Our campuses are located within easy reach of the city centre. Our parents are as much a part of our school as their children. Through our Friends of Compass School group, our parents are active members in our school social calendar and help to arrange regular coffee mornings and family get togethers.
6. A Truly International Education
Our school community consists of over 70 nationalities and we regularly celebrate our international mindedness.
7. Partnership with MIT & Juilliard & UNICEF
As part of the Nord Anglia Education group of schools, we are given access to the latest developments, training and research in education. Membership also allows us to form partnerships with some of the worlds leading organisations. Such as our partnership with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Every spring term, Nord Anglia students will visit MIT to immerse themselves in a culture of hands-on problem-solving. Your child will meet leading MIT scientists, build and experiment in workshops, and learn about the new discoveries that will shape their future.
Our school, also has links with the Juilliard School, the world leader in performing arts education, who have devised a performing arts programme for students at Compass School.
In collaboration with UNICEF, Compass School students have their social consciousness raised so they care more deeply about the world and the people in it. Your child will research, develop and debate challenges facing our society, and take action to address them. Through special activities and events with UNICEF, your child will be equipped to make their voice heard on the world stage and to make a lasting, positive difference.
