What a week we have had at MK Primary!
On Wednesday evening, our Year 1 – 3 students amazed us with their performance of ‘Humphrey and the Bongo Bandits’. The costumes were fantastic, the students sang brilliantly and they spoke loudly and clearly. It was a wonderful event that showcased the many talents of our students (and teachers!) A huge thank you to the parents who attended the performance. The students absolutely loved performing to such an appreciative audience!
The night before we had the 2017 Variety Show which featured a number of our Primary students performing solo pieces on the piano, playing as part of the Jazz band or singing as part of the choir. Well done to all of our students who performed with such confidence and composure. The Variety Show also included the inaugural performance of the Compass Community Choir, a group made up of parents and teachers. Their medley of songs was a sight (and sound) to behold. We look forward to the number of participants in the Community Choir swelling as the year progresses.
These two events epitomised many of the school’s strengths. The opportunities for students to take risks in a safe and supportive environment, the need to collaborate with others to be successful and demonstrating great resilience when things don’t run perfectly to plan. I left both events with a great sense of pride in our students, teachers and parent community.
Have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming Parent Workshop on Tuesday, 5 December, our International Breakfast on Saturday, 9 December and/or International Week next week.
