On Saturday, 1 April, LanguageOne Doha organized a charity event in collaboration with Gondolania, Villaggio, for the cause of Paws Rescue Qatar.

LanguageOne is an organization working globally to provide quality mother tongue education for students living abroad.

Compass International School Doha students aged 4-14 years old signed up for sponsored laps, skating as many as possible on the ice of Gondolania, Villaggio to raise money for Paws Rescue Qatar.

All proceeds raised by the children for skating will go to Paws Rescue Qatar, in Doha. Paws takes care of dogs and cats, as they give the best possible care, from shelter and food to medical care, adoptions, etc.

Netherlands Ambassador, Her Excellency Dr Bahia Tahzib-Lie opened the event and started by skating herself. Her Excellency Dr. Bahia Tazib-Lie: ‘The Dutch love ice skating, whether it be as sports or just  for fun - it’s part of Dutch cutural heritage. During the event, Dr Tahzib-Lie enjoyed her time on the ice with the children and did multiple laps with the participating children.

No matter how old or skilled you may be, everyone can have fun on the ice.

We’re grateful that the State of Qatar provides excellent ice skating facilities throughout – Special thanks to Gondolania Theme Park who helped to make this event work.
