Gharaffa IPC Entry Point: Back Gold

For our IPC Entry Point on Black Gold, Year 6 were visited by Ben Lenihan from Action Engineering to learn about the oil and gas industry in Qatar. Ben gave a very interesting presentation on how oil is drilled, refined, stored and transported. We learned about its different uses and the environmental impact of oil. The children then took part in an Oil Spill challenge where they had to separate oil from water in a clean up. Congratulations to Shahd, Sofia and Heyam of Y6GA for winning the challenge. They were awarded engineering memorabilia for extracting the most oil from the water. Well done girls! We hope to see you working in the oil industry in the future.
