Giovanni joined Compass in September 2013 and has represented our school football team for the past 4 years. He is a strong and reliable performer and has been a dedicated, loyal and hard-working member of every Compass team that he has played for. As a ball playing centre half with a good range of passes and the occasional dribble, Giovanni reads the game well and is a positive influence on his peers.
In recent years, Giovanni has become a role model for our younger players in secondary. Last year he organised a football tournament for students in Key Stage 3 and awarded prizes to students who excelled on the pitch as well as those who displayed a strong sense of fair play and sportsmanship. The tournament was a universal success thanks to Giovanni's organisational and refereeing skills This year, Giovanni has continued with his involvement in assisting the younger students. He referees games and settles grievances during informal games at break times. He has ably assisted Mr Dook with the Year 8 and 9 football teams and has coached and mentored students in these ECA sessions.
Giovanni is a young man who offers his help without wanting things in return for his good deeds. He has been an excellent role model to his peers and he has their respect. He thoroughly deserves this reward as he has inspired and motivated others to be the best that they can be.
