Rayyan Year 4A and Year 4C

15 February 2018

This term Year 4A and 4C have been extremely busy! With activities ranging from Science Week, our IPC topic of Temples, Tombs and Treasures and more recently Sports Week.

In IPC we covered the famous topic of the Ancient Egyptians! They children were gripped from the first week, creating their own hieroglyphics, making canopic jars to store organs in from a mummification and even learnt how the Pyramids were built. 4C even based their assembly on this topic, with the children creating their own script from scratch covering the story of Tutankhamun, how architects planned out a pyramid and how a body was mummified. Miss Lerche created an Egyptian song, and the children learnt the dance moves to Walk like an Egyptian!

Sports Week was a huge success; children had been practising all term for the various activities, and were particularly successful at the Tug of War! Everyone worked so hard and teamwork was so strong in Year 4, it was great to see in victory and in defeat!

The children have had such a jam packed start to Term 2 filled with fun: Here’s some quotes of what they enjoyed!

Maya 4C – “I thought everyone worked well in a team and the teachers did a great job!”

Abdul Rahman 4C – “I loved making the Kahoot! Quiz online about the Egyptians, showing what I learnt. I also really enjoyed our assembly!

Jihan 4A – “I really enjoyed the tug of war! Also the obstacle course, that was awesome!”

Liam 4A – “My favourite part was when my house came second overall!”

What a few weeks it has been, and there’s plenty more to come in our new topic of Land, Sea and Sky.
