Madinat Khalifa Secondary Headlines Report | Monday, 4 November 2019

Dear Parents,

There has been a lot of student participation in numerous events this week.

  • MK Student Council
  • FCS Social

The Student Council will be meeting for the first time and key to their discussion is enhancing community spirit.  This, and environmental issues were the key issues in the interviews we held.  On the success of our ‘Pink Day’ and ‘Costume Day’ for Tanzania and cancer awareness, the students are keen for a ‘Spirit’ Week.  The Senior Leadership Team discussed this in our meeting, and we will be looking to liaise with the student body for a House Week, that will culminate in a Sports Day at Aspire Zone in February.  The students seemed most enthusiastic at the prospect of having a ‘Meme Day’.  I look forward to planning this along with the students and would encourage any parental ideas for this.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Friends of Compass School for the event that they organised this weekend and was a real success.  This is on top of the work they have been doing in designing a reading area outside for the students to sit.  The students were also involved in the design of this.

We had a very successful Year 11 and 13 Parent Teacher Consultation evening recently and look forward to seeing the parents of Year 10 and 12 this week.

Yours sincerely,

Tom Douch
