Teachers continue to give reminders and reinforce expectations in the classroom and will continue sending messages home with the usual reminders.
I would like to thank all parents who arrived back on time for the start of term and continue to leave home early to ensure children are in class for 7.15am. We really do appreciate your support. If your child is to be successful in their learning then it is important that they are in school on time. Late children may become anxious and will not only disrupt learning but will inevitably miss important messages. The teachers have been asked to contact parents if a child is regularly late for school. This is for the benefit of all parties.
We had a great turnout on Tuesday for our Friends of Compass School (FCS) coffee morning. It was lovely to meet new parents and to catch up with some familiar faces. Thank you to our wonderful FCS team for hosting the morning. We hope to see the same number of people at tomorrow’s FCS meeting. I can guarantee that coffee and biscuits will be on the agenda. If you were unable to attend the coffee morning but would like to come along tomorrow, you are more than welcome.
Also last week, the school hosted an EAL (English as an Additional Language) presentation. Thank you to all parents who attended the morning. Thank you to Beata Jarasova (EAL teacher) for leading the presentation. I would also like to thank Lynne Abraham, Head of Early Years for leading our Early Years presentation on Wednesday. We hope parents have found all the presentations useful.
This morning, Mrs. Enaam, Arabic coordinator will speak to parents about Arabic studies. If you do have any further questions, please speak to one of our Arabic teachers or Mrs. Enaam. We have a fantastic department of wonderful teachers who work hard to inspire learning.
On Thursday, our nominated Head Boy, Head Girl and House Captains led the school assembly and shared five golden rules with the audience. We also announced our new Student Leaders. Student Leaders represent all students within the school and are the voice of the children. Please encourage your child to speak to the Student Leaders if they have a good idea. The Student Council will meet once a week with Mrs. Hunashi, the Student Leaders’ Coordinator. Meetings are chaired by the Head Girl and Head Boy.
There is a meeting this week for new Class Representatives. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, 7.30am. Thank you to all our new Class Representatives for signing up for this position.
Have a wonderful week.
