Early Years Leader and Early Years 2 Teacher
After graduating university, I taught English abroad in South Korea and then Hong Kong. This experience ignited my love for working with children, so I decided to return home to Glasgow to complete my PGDE. After teaching in Scotland I knew I wanted to teach internationally and so I was delighted to accept a position as an EYFS teacher at the British School of Guangzhou in China. Here I got the experience of working in a busy Early Years environment alongside some outstanding teachers and wonderful children. After 2 years working in China I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to set up the brand new EYFS campus at Nord Anglia International School, Hong Kong. This gave me invaluable experience setting up a new school and watching it grow and thrive.

Early Years 1 Teacher
I am from Wigan in the North West of England. We are famous for rugby and pies. I worked in a UK bank as a Senior Manager for many years and completed my degree in Psychology whilst working full time. I had had a lifelong passion to work with children so I completed a MSc in Developmental Psychology, with the intention to be an Educational Psychologist. After gaining experience working with children in the classroom I developed a love of teaching and completed my PGCE. In the UK I have had the fortune to work in every year group through KS1 and KS2. I am working in Early Years for the first time here in Doha and totally love it. I enjoy travelling with my family, visiting theatres, museums, galleries and reading.
Early Years 2 Teacher
I studied education, family and childhood studies at Wolverhampton University where I graduated with a First-Class honours degree. I then went onto complete my Post Graduate Certificate in Education with QTS. I worked in the UK for two years working in both Key Stage 1 and 2 before deciding that I wanted to explore education in an international setting having studied this in my degree. I made the decision to move to Doha in 2017 and have been working in the Early Years setting ever since. I have a huge passion for teaching and sparking curiosity in children’s minds. I think learning is important not only for children but adults and believe learning is a lifelong process. In my spare time I love to travel exploring new countries and different cultures, I enjoy socialising and listening to live music.
I studied Primary Teaching in St Mary’s University College, Belfast and graduated in 2016. I moved to Qatar shortly after graduating, taking up a role as an Early Years teacher in Doha and joined Compass International School in 2019. My interests include music and reading and I like to encourage these passions in my students’ learning. I love the culture and diversity of Qatar.
