Jill Stenburge

Early Years Teacher

I'm Jill Stenburge and I'm an Early Years class teacher and music teacher.

After completion of my BSc in Geology and Music in 2002 I decided to teach abroad and taught English in Japan and Italy for three years. This experience confirmed for me that I wanted to be a school teacher so I returned to the UK to get my teaching qualification. I gained my PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2007 and worked in Wiltshire as a Primary and Early Years school teacher for five years. For the last seven years I have lived and worked in Thailand and China, and now I am ready to explore, live and work in another part of the world. I am very excited about moving to Qatar.

During my time in China, my love for music was re-kindled when I was given the opportunity be a specialist music teacher and to teach music in both the Primary and Early Years phases. I absolutely loved this role but equally missed being in the classroom and teaching my own class of students, so I am very much looking forward to getting back into the classroom this year.

In my free time I enjoy throwing my self into anything musical! In the past I have been in bands, both as a trumpeter and singer. I have also been a member of several choir and harmony groups. I also really enjoy running choir groups and also directing school productions. I adore the outdoors and traveling and during weekends and holidays I usually explore new places with my husband. We always have the next trip planned.

I am really looking forward to meeting you all and to starting our new life in Doha very soon!
