Year 2 Teacher and Milepost 1 Teacher
Year 6 Teacher and English Coordinator
I am originally from County Wicklow in Ireland. After graduating from the University of Limerick with a Sports & Exercise Science degree I began coaching in summer camps in the USA. It was over this time I developed a passion for teaching children and I decided to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). I first arrived to teach in Qatar in the year 2000 and fell in love with the people and the culture and have stayed ever since. I met my husband here and my daughter was also born here and as such I feel Doha is my home away from home.
Year 1 Teacher and Maths Coordinator
My name is Anna, and I am from Dublin, Ireland. Having completed my Undergraduate degree in History, Politics and International Relations from University College Dublin in 2013, I moved to Mombasa, Kenya, where I lived for a year managing an educational volunteering programme in a small village, working with a local school. This experience was to inspire me to train as a teacher, and I gained my iPGCE from Sunderland University in 2017, while living in Dubai.
Year 6 Teacher
Hi, my name is Clare and I am originally from South Wales. I have been living in Qatar for five years. I joined Compass International School Doha after previously teaching in two other Nord Anglia schools. While in university I completed a teaching placement in Chicago and after finishing my degree, I started teaching in Nord Anglia International School, Al Khor and joined the Compass team in 2019.
Year 1 Teacher
With almost ten years teaching experience Edwina has taught every stage of the Early Years from pre-nursery to Year 3 and therefore has an in depth understanding of the child’s journey throughout the Early Years and early primary.
She has also taught in a wide variety of different schools ranging from inner city England to International Schools in Dubai, China and Doha. In her Of.S.T.E.D. and KHDA observations she was graded Outstanding with particular mentions to the Curriculum quality and the quality of assessment and support. Edwina has excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and is an excellent team member who is highly regarded by her colleagues and everyone she works with.
Six years ago, Edwina came to work in Compass International School Doha, as she was looking for a position in which she can further her career prospects and enjoy her surrounding environment whilst doing so.
Year 5 Teacher
After graduating with a law degree, I gained my Post Graduate Certificate in Education in the UK in 2010. I began my teaching career in the south west of England and taught in KS1 for two years before embarking on my international teaching career. Over the last seven years, I have worked across three different Nord Anglia schools in Vietnam, Hong Kong and most recently Myanmar.
My experience in Asia has provided me with a sound understanding of teaching and supporting children in an international setting as well as meeting the needs of EAL learners. I have taught across all primary year groups and this has helped me to develop a good sense of learning progression and the development of children across the primary ages.
Year 4 Teacher
Originally from Scotland, I have grown up and lived in Qatar for 20 plus years! I completed my PGCE through the University of Sunderland in 2016 and have now been teaching for three years. I have taught a variety of year groups between the age of five and nine.
