I have been a teacher for 15 years. After graduating from university, where I studied German language and literature and English language and literature, along with all the courses needed for a teacher (psychology, pedagogy, methodology), I started working as a secondary school teacher, preparing students for their final examinations both in English and German. After 2 years I left my home country, but I went on teaching English in the Czech Republic. I have been teaching English there for 12 years, all age categories from kindergarten up to the final examinations, as well as adults.

Originally from Scotland, I graduated from Moray House Institute of Education, University of Edinburgh in 1999 and moved to England where I taught for 2 years. In 2001, I got the travel bug and wanted to live in a warmer climate and was lucky enough to get a job teaching PE at Wingate School in Tenerife, Canary Islands. I had 5 amazing years over there but then wanted to try somewhere new. I had friends who had moved to Qatar and were raving about it and in 2006 I made the move to the Middle East. I had 10 amazing years in Dukhan but felt it was time to move on but I was still very keen to stay in Qatar.
When I started teaching martial arts at the age of 14 I developed a passion for helping people discover new skills and experiences. After many years working at Yarm Martial Arts Academy, I decided to improve my skills and develop as a P.E.coach, specialising in swimming and gymnastics.
Originally from Guernsey in the Channel Islands, I graduated from the University of Brighton in 2007 and took up my first teaching job in England, working as a School Sports Coordinator. In 2011 I started teaching here in Qatar (in Dukhan) and I have spent the last 2 years right here in Doha. My very enjoyable time here has enabled me to complete my Masters in Education with Bath University, as well as gain a wealth of experience working with children from different cultures and backgrounds.
I completed a course of Arabic Language and graduated from Qatar University. I taught at a primary school for 6 years, I was then nominated to be the head of the school, this is my experience of Arabic schools in Qatar.
I joined Compass International School Doha in January 2016. After a successful carrier as a pediatric oncology nurse, I graduated in 2000 as Bachelor in education and ever since worked as a Primary School Teacher and coordinator in the Netherlands. My husband worked from 2013 onward in Qatar, I visited him as much as possible. However, after a few years of traveling and a lot of visits I decided to join him and become a part of the international life and community Qatar offers. Luckily at approximately the same time LanguageOne initiated the Dutch mother tongue program at Compass International School Doha. After initially teaching culture classes, I took on a larger role of local director of the Dutch department and started to act as such in March 2016.
