As the longest serving member of staff, I am very proud of the accomplishments and achievements of Compass International School Doha. I have watched it grow from one campus to the current four campuses, offering a first class education to over 2000 students of 70 nationalities. Originally qualified as a Primary Teacher in Scotland, I have over thirty years’ experience in both education and leadership.
I have been in Qatar for many years and had the privilege of teaching and leading in prestigious schools. Before taking up my current role as Head of Campus, Themaid I was Head of Campus, at Rayyan, Head of the International Primary Curriculum and Head of English at Compass. I have also held the positions of Head of Infant Coordinator (Early Years to Year 2) and Head of English at other leading schools in Qatar. Prior to that I taught various primary classes in Scotland.
Since joining Compass, I have pursued my leadership ambitions, completing International Leadership and Management Programmes at Middle and Senior Leadership Level and the Nord Anglia Education Senior Leadership Programme. More recently I completed PENTA Inspection Training to enable me to become an International Schools Inspector. I love learning and seeking new challenges. I have an English as an Additional Language qualification which is particularly relevant in our context. Every day I am thrilled by the learning taking place in school, seeing the “Be Ambitious’ philosophy in action and chatting to the fabulous children and families from truly multicultural backgrounds. It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to work with so many talented teachers and staff who pride themselves in setting high expectations and encouraging our children to be the best they can be.
