I hold a first class honours degree in Natural Sciences from Durham University and a PGCE in Lifelong Learning, specialising in Psychology and Business Studies. I worked in a payroll and administrative environment prior to teaching where I gained a qualification in Team Leading, and I am on the British Psychological Society register after achieving my Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing and becoming fully qualified in Psychometric Testing and Access Arrangements.
Outside of school I enjoy running, the gym and swimming but often undo my hard work with good food and chocolate! I also like to read, watch films and listen to live music. I would love to be able to play the piano and next on my holiday wish list is the Far East.
I would like to continue to develop the Psychology department and work even harder to engage and inspire my students. On a wider school level, I want to further support our students in a wider range of areas and celebrate the success of our school community on a much larger scale.
My favourite quote is: “Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.” - Joshua J. Marine
