Learning Support Assistant

We moved from Cape Town (South Africa) to Doha in 2012 to start our expat lives.

I have a Degree in Psychology as well as a PGCE (teaching certificate). For the last 6 years I have worked for Compass International School, Madinat Khalifa as a Learning Support Assistant, Learning Assistant for Years 2 and 5, plus working as Additional Learning Needs Co-ordinator.  Supporting children in class and in small groups is immensely rewarding to me, as I see them grow and learn.

Our son has nearly completed his BComm degree and our daughter qualified with a Marketing degree and is working; she will be getting married at the end of 2019.

My favourite hobby is sewing and for sport I really enjoy doing yoga and cycling.

My favourite quote is: “The nourishment of body is food, while the nourishment of the soul is feeding others.” (Hazrat Ali Ibn Abu-Talib A.S.).

To me being ambitious is when one challenges oneself to be the best you can be.
