Since then I have worked in a number of roles across a variety of settings, culminating in the opportunity to inspire and engage young learners in Doha. Having worked with children from a variety of backgrounds, both in Yorkshire, New Jersey and France, I am thrilled about this opportunity to lead and nurture children within the international school setting, as part of the Madinat Khalifa team here at Compass.
My own personal philosophy towards primary education is that every child, regardless of social or economic background, should have the opportunity to express their talents within a safe environment, as is essential to their academic and holistic development. From an early point in my career, I saw first-hand how interpersonal communication skills, and a commitment towards personalised learning and inclusion, can lead to moments which embed themselves in the children’s mind-set, and positively impact their learning behaviours both in and out of the classroom. In demonstrating a warm empathy for children, where fairness, patience and humour form the basis of my relationships, I believe that I promote a learning environment that effectively enriches the experience of the child, and positively contributes towards their progress and achievement throughout their time in Primary School.
