Physics Teacher and Head of Year 10

I joined the Nord Anglia family of schools in 2015, after teaching science and physics in state comprehensives, English private schools and British international schools. I have held a range of positions over my career and will be joining the Compass International School as Head of Year 10, joining the pupils on their journey through the IGCSE course and helping them prepare for the IB and beyond.

In 2015 I was a member of the Nord Anglia MIT/STEAM team that went to Boston to investigate ways of increasing collaboration between the STEAM subjects as well as learning novel teaching and learning techniques.  I am also very excited about being part of the Executive Masters Program in International Education that Nord Anglia are offering in collaboration with King’s College London. I have a keen interest in the use of technology in teaching and learning whether that is in experiments or assessment for learning.

Primarily though I will be teaching Physics in Doha. I want all my students to love physics, helping them make connections between theory and reality. I have taught across all age groups and courses from Year 6 to IB and A Level. I have been an examiner for AQA and most recently Edexcel which has informed my teaching to help students understand and achieve more. I also love going into the primary school classrooms and teaching introductory science lessons to the younger students to begin early recruitment of future scientists.
