I joined the Nord Anglia family of schools in 2015, after teaching science and physics in state comprehensives, English private schools and British international schools. I have held a range of positions over my career and I am currently Head of Year 10, joining the pupils on their journey through the IGCSE course and helping them prepare for the IB and beyond.
In 2015 I was a member of the Nord Anglia MIT/STEAM team that went to Boston to investigate ways of increasing collaboration between the STEAM subjects as well as learning novel teaching and learning techniques. I am also very excited about being part of the Executive Masters Program in International Education that Nord Anglia are offering in collaboration with King’s College London. I have a keen interest in the use of technology in teaching and learning whether that is in experiments or assessment for learning.
I want all my students to love physics, helping them make connections between theory and reality. I have taught across all age groups and courses from Year 6 to IB and A Level. I have been an examiner for AQA and most recently Edexcel which has informed my teaching to help students understand and achieve more. I also love going into the primary school classrooms and teaching introductory science lessons to the younger students to begin early recruitment of future scientists.
