I hold a BA History (Hons) degree and a PGDipEd in Secondary Education (History) both from the University of Birmingham. I have recently completed a Masters in Teaching Studies (Distinction), specialising in the role of field trips within education. I am also an Edexcel GCSE marker, having marked for Cambridge and AQA in the past.
I can not wait to join a school so passionate about education. This will be my first international post but I am excited to work in such a different environment. Teaching students with such a diverse background of cultures will be inspiring.
Outside of the classroom I am a keen sportsperson. I enjoy playing football, cricket and golf. I also enjoy watching sport, in particular my favourite teams Birmingham City & Warwickshire CC. I look forward to seeing what new sporting opportunities I can take part in and watch in Doha.
I will be joined in Doha with my wife Kirsty, who will also be joining Compass as a Maths Teacher. We have not lived in the Middle East before but we are keen travellers and are extremely looking forward to exploring the Qatari culture.
For me being ambitious is always aiming to be your very best, constantly challenging yourself to try new opportunities and overcoming any obstacles in your way.
