English Teacher and Student Development Co-ordinator

After leaving school, I studied English Literature at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, United Kingdom. I decided to complete my PGCE back in Essex where I grew up, which is where I met my husband who was also training to be a teacher at the time.

After my training year and NQT year, I returned to my secondary school to teach English and Psychology and I have stayed there for the last three years. I love teaching two subjects; English allows me to be analytical and creative whereas teaching about human behaviour in Psychology fascinates me.

I am thrilled to move to Doha and teach at Compass International School Doha. I am looking forward to experiencing this adventure with my husband and fully immersing myself in a new country and culture. I am also eager to start my new role as Student Development Co-ordinator and get to know the students and colleagues I will be working with next year.

Outside of teaching, I love to read (obviously!), keep fit and to travel. I have so many places still on my bucket list that I would love to see and experience. I hope this change in location helps to broaden my mind even more and learn new things about myself.
