I am from Syria and completed my Bachelor & Masters in Arts and Literature at Damascus University. For my first five years as a teacher I taught in Syria as an Arabic teacher, before moving to work in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates for four years. I moved to Qatar in 2010, taking up a post as Head of Arabic and Islamic Studies at an international school. Qatar is a wonderful place I met many people and have many friends, specially my students.
Joining Compass International School, Doha, is an opportunity for me to explore myself more. I am looking forward to being a part of an extensive growing school where I can learn more every day about different cultures and have the opportunity to meet people and learn from their experiences. Teaching has always been my motivation and my love of teaching has grown since I started working with young people. I strongly believe that all students learn in different ways and at different paces and I try hard to incorporate this into my lessons
My family are living back in Syria and I eagerly wait for my vacation to visit them every year and spend as much time I can. Staying abroad and working without family is a challenge for all expats. I am a friendly person ready to help anyone, anytime, anywhere. Outside of school I like playing football, swimming, listening to music and going to the gym. I strongly believe that to learn from my mistakes makes me a better person.
