I have been studying and working in Early Years and Key Stage 1 for the past ten years. Having completed my degree in Early Childhood Education the UK, I took up the post of Nursery Teacher at another Nord Anglia Education (NAE) school in Shanghai. After a successful post in Shanghai, I joined a NAE school in Warsaw, Poland, as a Nursery Teacher and Early Years Coordinator. This role gave me a greater understanding of how children learn through the different stages, whilst allowing me to develop my leadership skills.
After my time in Warsaw, I took on the role of Reception Teacher and High Performance Learning Leader at another NAE school, The British School of Guangzhou. This allowed me the opportunity to continue to develop independent, child-centred learning, taking this concept through with our Year 1 students. I believe in children using the outdoor areas as part of their learning experience, using real life objects to discover and become inquisitive learners
I continue to enjoy travelling the globe in search of exciting experiences. I really like playing golf, even though I am no way near as good as I would like to be. However, I believe in our school’s ambitious approach, never giving up and continually trying to become the best I can be. I can now make a very simple loaf of bread after many baking disasters and enjoy extending my baking skills.
I moved to Qatar and joined the Compass team in 2019, acompanied in Doha by my wife Victoria, who is a speech and language therapist and my beautiful daughter Eleanor Rose.
