Sports Coach

Originally from Cirencester, Gloucestershire. I live at home with my parents and younger brother. After working as a sports coach for the previous two years I would like to challenge myself further and look forward to my exciting time ahead at Compass.

I finished school in 2011. During my last year at school I did my work experience at Swindon Town Football Club. Since leaving school I then attended Cirencester College where I studied Level 3 BTEC in sports coaching development and fitness. On leaving college I gained an apprenticeship at Cirencester Primary school (CPS) where I qualified as a level 3 Teaching Assistant and also passed my F.A level 1 and 2 coaching badges in Football. As part of my apprenticeship I would also coach sport at Ciren Primary alongside another apprentice which was a great experience as I was given the opportunity to teach all year groups from reception to Year 6. As well as football badges I have also completed other coaching courses such as Level 1 assistant coach in Basketball and basic training courses in Handball, Rugby and Hockey. After completing my apprenticeship at Ciren Primary I wanted to focus more on my sports coaching so therefore briefly worked for Roaring Rugby where I had the opportunity to coach a variety of sports such as Football, Hockey, Netball, Handball and Cricket. I taught these sports across KS1&2. In 2014 I was then re-employed by CPS but my job role remained the same, being employed directly by the school was exciting for me as I could now take children to different local sporting events to compete against other schools. I have also been on residential trips with the children to France and The Forest of Dean.

I hope to add to this experience with this exciting opportunity for myself in Doha.

Whilst at Compass during my visit in February this year I enjoyed a week’s rugby camp with a small group of children and would like to extend this experience with other sports. My personal goals at Compass are to enjoy my time here, inspire and get children active in sports. Give children a passion for sport by providing opportunities for them to do so.

Outside of school I enjoy being active and playing sport. My main hobby is football which I have played since the age of 6, where I have recently been playing for Cirencester Town Development team as well as occasionally the First team. Alongside playing football I enjoy coaching young children at my local football club. Other sporting hobbies include Tennis, Cricket, Darts and Motorsport. Aside from sport I also enjoy socializing with friends and going to the cinema etc.

I’m easy going, relaxed and enjoy banter but passionate about sport and want to inspire the next generation.
