I love nothing more than being involved in the process of learning and teaching and find engaging with people in an academic setting highly conducive for this purpose. I have a BFA (with a focus in painting, sculpture and photography) and an MA in Mass Communication.
In the past ten years, I have lived and worked in various geographic locations that include Dubai, Singapore and Pakistan. I have had the fortune of teaching and interacting with individuals of various ages who belong to many different geo-cultural backgrounds; within schools, universities and public institutions that I have been associated with. These opportunities have been instrumental in helping me gain a more global perspective in life and greatly influence my professional practice.
I am very excited to have been given the opportunity to join Compass International School Doha as a Librarian for the Primary and Secondary school of our Themaid campus. Although, I am new to the school as a part of the staff, the School and its warm and all-encompassing community is not new to me. I have been an active member of the Compass school as a part of the parent’s association of the school for the past four years and find the school’s core values very close to my heart. I look forward to contributing towards adding greater value to our School and aim to make our libraries a happy place and a hub of learning and enquiry for all.
I am also an active advocate of public art and a practicing artist. Outside of work I spend my time painting, working on book illustrations and occasionally teaching community art classes.
