Year 2 Teacher
I am originally from Ireland but have lived and worked in Qatar for over 6 years. I obtained my Postgraduate Certificate in Education in 2015, through the University of Sunderland. While living in Qatar, I have worked in two international schools and I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to work with Compass International School Doha in August 2018.

Year 3 Teacher
I am from Sligo, a beautiful coastal county in Ireland. I wanted to be a primary teacher from a young age. I graduated from Dublin City University with a Bachelor of Education (Hons) in 2009. I taught for one year in a rural 4 teacher school and have been teaching in a large, urban, multi-cultural, fully inclusive school for the past nine years. During this time I have taught both Key Stage 1 and 2 in the role of mainstream teacher and as an additional learning needs teacher. I undertook a Masters in Education (Hons) in Maynooth University in 2013 and completed my thesis on strategies for teaching reading to young children. I have trained in the Incredible Years programme and believe strongly in the importance of building positive relationships in the classroom to enable children to achieve their maximum potential.
Year 6 Teacher
Lauren O’Toole started her new role as Year 6 teacher in January 2021. Lauren has experience of teaching all primary years (1-6), as well as experience of being a bilingual class teacher and learning support teacher. She also has leadership experience as mathematics coordinator from her previous post at Rayyan campus. After graduating with a bachelor’s Education Degree from the University of Glasgow in 2013, Lauren has since taught both in Qatar and Scotland and is also in her final year of completing her Masters in Educational Studies degree. She is extremely happy to be back in Qatar after returning to Scotland in 2018 after 4 years at our Rayyan campus, and is looking forward to inspiring young people and continuing to develop herself professionally.
I come from county Galway in the Republic of Ireland. I completed my Bachelors in Education at the University of Limerick in Ireland and spent several years honing my teaching skills in the Irish state education system before moving to international teaching. My first internationaI teaching position was at the Gharaffa Campus of Compass International School. l spent seven years teaching at the Gharaffa and Rayyan campuses where I worked as Head of Early Years during my time there.
Year 5 Teacher
I am from Newry, Northern Ireland. Having graduated in 2013 from St Mary’s Teaching College, Belfast, I moved to Doha and spent two years working in an international school. In 2015, I moved to Madrid, Spain, and I spent five years working in an international school as a class teacher, subject leader and eventually as the Head of the Primary. This year, my family and I decided to move to Doha for a new adventure and we cannot wait to get started.
Year 4 Teacher
Arriving in Doha in 2013, I had the privilege of working in many international schools around Qatar. Compass International School Doha always stuck out as it reminded me most of the community back home, in Washington, England. In 2016, I started my adventure at Compass. So far I have worked at both our Gharaffa and Rayyan Campuses and taught PE and Year 3. The excitement, enthusiasm and ambition our students show each and every day makes Compass a truly inspirational place to work.
Year 1 Teacher
Hi all, I joined the Compass International School Doha family in 2019 as a Year One Class Teacher.
I studied Primary Teaching and Education at university, with a specialism of Global Citizenship and extra courses in Special Educational Needs and Modern Foreign Language. After graduating I worked in a wonderful Infant school in Southampton, England. Here I was head of both Maths and Music as well as being a Year One class teacher.
Before moving to Qatar, I was living and working in Thailand. I worked in a British international school on the beautiful island of Phuket. I worked as Head of English and Phonics and was Key Stage One Phase Leader and once again a Year One Class Teacher.
I graduated from York St John University in 2011, having completed a BA (Hons) in Primary Education. My first teaching experience was as an Early Years class teacher in York; although this year group was unexpected, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and developing the understanding and knowledge of how students start their education. After that first year of teaching I travelled to Australia for a year to work part time in a school and taught private tuition to primary aged pupils.
