I moved to Doha in 2011 and began my international teaching experience as a Year 2 class teacher, quickly moving on to teach Year 4, where I remained for four years. I was then very lucky to have the opportunity to become the Key Stage 2 and Curriculum coordinator, which then led me into joining the Senior Management team as the Senior Teacher, giving me an exciting platform to implement international mindedness and other such initiatives into the school community.
I came to visit Compass International School Doha on a Physical Education training day and the friendly, supportive, positive environment really appealed to me; when the opportunity came for me to join the Compass community in 2019 I could not refuse!
I have many hobbies and interests outside of work. They range from sport, dance, music and academic pursuits. For the last six years, I have been an avid member of Doha Rugby Club and represented Doha in numerous tournaments around the Gulf; this included being selected to play in the Dubai Rugby Sevens tournament and more recently, representing Qatar National Rugby in the Asian Cup. I had the privilege of being asked to be captain of the second team two years ago, and in turn was awarded Player of the Year. In addition, I have been a member of a social netball team since September playing regular matches throughout the year, I have recently been awarded most improved player of the division.
