Katie MacHale

Katie Machale

Business and Economics Teacher

My name is Katie MacHale and I am a Business Studies and Economics teacher from Ireland.
I have been teaching now for over four years, two years in Ireland and two years in sunny Doha. I studied a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Studies , Economics and Music at Maynooth University Ireland. I then went on to study a Professional Master of Education at Dublin City University. Teaching has always been the career I wanted to explore, I have such a passion for helping young students and making a difference in their lives. I am looking forward to working with the young students at Compass International School and supporting them with their educational and personal development.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my years as a teacher, and I love inspiring students to think beyond their comfort zone and challenge them to reach their fullest potential. The two years I have spent in Doha have been amazing. I have learned so much about different cultures and I got the opportunity to share my own culture. I have met people of various nationalities, gained great life experiences, and developed interpersonal skills that will last a lifetime. I am so excited to explore Doha further and join such a prestigious and reputable school such as Compass International School.

I have a keen interest in music and enjoy playing music socially. I play classical music, but my passion lies for Irish traditional music. I have enjoyed many summers travelling across Ireland attending the Fleadh Cheoil, an Irish music festival.

I grew up in the West of Ireland only a few kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean where I enjoyed walking and mountain climbing. I love sports and swam competitively and played Gaelic Football for many years.
