I have been passionate about literature ever since begging my parents to buy me a copy of The Secret Garden by Frances Hodges Burnett (which became the first book I ever owned). I couldn't wait until Monday for the class story time in order to find out what happened next. No wonder my studies then took me all the way through to PhD in English Literature and a passion for reading, writing and storytelling.
Over the last fourteen years, I have served in a variety of educational roles from being a university professor, to a secondary teacher, and also teaching librarian. Working as the English as Additional Language is the perfect blend of my experiences as a child of India immigrants growing up in America, and now parent and educator of Third of Culture kids. Multilingualism is a gift and I love working with students to see it as a strength across their academic work.
