Trainers are not allowed in school, unless they are part of the PE uniform.

Girls: one piece navy blue swimming suit and long sleeved t-shirt for walking from the changing rooms to the swimming pool. -
Boys: navy blue swimming shorts/trunks and long sleeved t-shirt for walking from the changing rooms to the swimming pool. -
Girls that usually wear tights must wear leggings and socks (in school uniform colours). This is much safer and more hygienic.

Jewellery should not be worn on PE or swimming days. This is due to health and safety.
Secondary
- Black, flat, formal shoes (no trainers, plimsolls, basketball shoes, sandals, open-toed shoes or high heels). If alternative shoes need to be worn for medical reasons, a formal medical note must be sent to the school nurse.
- Smart, tailored grey trousers/shorts/skirts. Skirts should be worn as designed, to knee length or longer, and not rolled-up or otherwise shortened. Leggings, cropped or tight fitted trousers and jeans are not allowed.
- Formal blue shirt or blouse with the school logo.
- Although the school fleece is preferable, a plain navy blue cardigan or jumper can be worn inside the school building. A school fleece or an appropriate coat in a plain dark colour can be worn outside in the cooler months. Heavily patterned coats or hoodies are not allowed.
- T-shirts and other underwear worn under school shirts and blouses should be plain white and tucked into skirts or trousers.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and A-level
Our Year 12 and 13 students don't need to wear a school uniform. Instead, they're expected to dress in smart, business attire, which reflects their status as senior students and role models.
Helpful hint: make sure all of your child’s uniform and equipment is clearly labelled with their name. This keeps lost items to a minimum and saves confusion.
Changing for swimming and PE

All primary students can wear their sports kit all day when they have PE lessons.

At Madinat Khalifa, on swimming days, children in Year 1 can wear their PE kit to school. Students in Years 2-6 should wear full school uniform and change in the changing rooms.

At Themaid, on swimming days, children in Early Years 1, Early Years 2, Year 1 and Year 2 can wear their PE kit to school. Students in Years 3-6 should wear the full school uniform and change in the changing rooms.

Students can come to school with their swimming costume underneath their uniform if they wish. Changing rooms are located next to the swimming pool.

On swimming days, children should also bring a long sleeved t-shirt cover-up when walking between the changing room and the pool.

Personal appearance

Jewellery should not be worn in school. However, we do allow students to wear a watch and stud earrings (earrings that sit flat on the ear lobe and do not dangle). To ensure health and safety, other jewellery or piercings are not permitted.

Students should not wear their hair in an extreme style. Long hair must be tied back during practical experiments and PE lessons.

Any children wearing nail varnish will be sent to the school nurse so it can be removed.
PE

Other
- Trolley-type bags are considered a health and safety hazard and should not be used in school.
- Mobile phones and other electronic devices are not appropriate for use during the school day.

We run special theme days throughout the year. Below are some of the themes in case you'd like to prepare for them in advance.
