This year marked the centenary of the outbreak of World War I in 1914 and all secondary students have been studying WWI to commemorate the occasion. Students will visit the battlefields of Ypres, Belgium and the city of Paris, France.

The trip will see students visit the battlefields of the Western Front in Ypres, Belgium, where some of the heaviest fighting took place. They will take part in special commemorative workshops in memory of the millions of men who lost their lives. After 3 days in Ypres we will transfer to Paris. This part of the trip will include climbing the Eiffel Tower, a boat trip along the River Seine, a tour to the Stade de France and a fun-filled visit to Disney Land!

Visiting the trenches will enrich the curriculum and enable students to develop empathy with those who fought. The second part of the trip in Paris will allow students to absorb some traditional, yet cosmopolitan French culture.
