The education offered in the secondary school builds on the students' previous learning and knowledge from KS2. In KS3 lessons are taught by a series of subject specialists with the class tutor having the important pastoral role of coordinating all aspects of the students' academic and social development. The class tutor also delivers the PSHE program which includes global citizenship and health education. At NAS Dubai our expectation of our students is high - all participate in the learning process and each student's contribution to the school is valued.
Year 7 students become the youngest in this area of the school and those in Year 9 are on their way to becoming responsible adults.
It is our aim to help prepare students for the adult world and make them more independent and self-aware. Students are introduced to a wide range of subjects and studies and are encouraged to learn and think for themselves. Staff endeavour to give them confidence to join in, to ask questions and help others, laying the foundations for academic success at IGCSE and beyond.
Student will choose their options for IGCSE in year 8 and begin the programme of study in year 9. This leads to the possibility of early examination entry for some subjects in year 10.
