During my teaching career in the UK, I held diverse Leadership roles, culminating in being appointed Deputy Head teacher and seconded by the Local Authority to support other schools in developing a student led learning approach, providing challenge for all learners.
I also piloted learning enrichment and school transition projects, as well as curriculum development initiatives which were published for use in schools in London and Kent.
I have been in Dubai since 2008, when I embarked on my International career, working as a Director of Learning in a through school and then as a Primary Deputy Headteacher.
Since joining NAS Dubai four years ago as the Whole School Deputy Head, I have had many wonderful opportunities to work with our fantastic students from Nursery to Year 13. Over this time I have led the development of our unique personalised languages programme, which is one of the USPs of the school. In partnership with this was the introduction the cultural events, which enrich our curriculum provision and celebrate our cultural diversity, bringing our lovely school community together.
An important part of my role is ensuring the Inclusion and well-being of our students. With this as a key priority as a school, it is paramount that we create a positive school culture and environment, so helping all children and young people to feel safe, connected and respected to achieve success, where they are fully engaged in their learning. We constantly strive to ensure that all feel as though they belong and are developing confidence to be the change makers of the future!
When I am not in school I love to spend time with my husband and two wonderful children. It’s important to have quality family time, especially in our house in France, although our French still needs further improvement! Running I would say is not a passion but something that I enjoy, especially seeing how many 10KM runs I can complete with colleagues from school around Dubai, the record being 14 in one year! I still have that dream of completing a marathon once in my lifetime – as we say at NAS Dubai: Be Ambitious!
