Never say never! Having been born and brought up in London and spending my teaching career in London based schools, working abroad in an extraordinary school was an aspiration proving difficult to fulfil; either the school was not right or the time. But then along came NAS Dubai.
The new, exciting challenges and opportunities that NAS Dubai presented were too good to walk away from. Teaching is so much more than a job for me. Helping to shape the future of the next generation is at the core of my teaching practice and leadership. I believe learning both in and outside of the classroom is the key to every child’s success; academically, socially and personally. For me, being an educator is to ensure that every child is provided with an inspirational, challenging, yet supportive learning environment where they can thrive and achieve on many different levels, developing the confidence to become our future leaders. I am certain that I will make an exceptionally positive contribution to the international academic excellence that already exists at NAS Dubai.
Having gained a degree in Psychology and Sociology I went onto complete my PGCE and then Masters in Education Research. I have over 13 years of teaching experience including roles such as Head of year, Assistant Headteacher in charge of Inclusion and Associate Deputy Headteacher in charge of Teaching and Learning. When I am not in school I like to get involved in different sports and keep fit. In addition to keeping up with current affairs, I have a passion for travelling and enjoy dining out as well as catching up with friends.
I enjoy working with all staff at NAS Dubai and helping to provide the students with the skills, inspiration, opportunities and confidence to be the best they can be.
