Growing up on a farm in rural East Anglia, I always had a passion for the outdoors, exploration and for learning new things. This interest led me into teaching and I started my career in London in an inner-city school. These teaching years taught me many things including resilience, flexibility and creativity. My husband and I then made the decision to move internationally and we have taught in Thailand and most recently Spain.
I have a clear teaching pedagogy, believing during the Early Years, following child interest led planning is most beneficial. My classroom is a welcoming, calming and neutral space where the children bring the colours to the classroom. Incorporating as many natural and real-life products and experiences into early childhood is incredibly important and I look forward to having these with my new class.
Whilst out of work I enjoy spending time in my local community as well as travelling to new places and countries. I have recently visited South Africa and Mozambique and am now enjoying trying to recreate some of the delicious meals which we had. I also enjoy playing tennis and netball and am a keen reader.
Having visited Dubai many times over the past 15 years, I have seen the city grow and develop and I am really pleased to finally be living here. I look forward to meeting the staff, families and children in my class and I can't wait to get started.
