I have earned a B.Ed. (Hons) from the University of Leeds, an MA in Educational Leadership and Innovation from the University of Warwick, and have over 25 years of teaching experience, from Early Years to Year 6.
After graduation, I worked in two Primary Schools in York, in the United Kingdom. Whilst working in York, I became an Advanced Skills Teacher (AST), and as a result, gaining the responsibility of coaching and mentoring teachers across the region. Following this, I left York to teach at Ixelles III, a European Union school based in Brussels. This school catered for the children of European Parliament diplomats and officials.
After starting my family, I returned to the UK, where I gained a master’s degree in educational leadership and innovation and taught in a large West Midlands Primary School. Subsequently, I continued to further my international experience by moving to Singapore, where I worked at my first school in the Nord Anglia family and then I moved to the Nord Anglia school in Shanghai.
Even though I have taught across all year groups, I’m especially excited to be a part of the Reception team here at NAS Dubai. I believe each child comes to school with their own interests and questions about the world and I love their enthusiasm for life and natural curiosity. It is a privilege to work with children at the beginning of their learning journey, as it is a crucial period where a love for learning can be nurtured, and the foundations of a life-long learner can be developed. I am greatly looking forward to embarking on this adventure together.
Outside of the classroom, my son and I have recently started to learn to play golf. We are both enjoying our time together learning a new sport.
