I became a Primary Teacher in 2012, qualifying from Manchester Met University with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education and taught as a class teacher working in a variety of year groups. I have experience of teaching in both the UK and the UAE.
I have a real passion for education and have always viewed it as a vocation rather than a job. I want the best possible outcomes for all the children I work with. I believe that children learn best in a positive, engaging environment where a strong emphasis is placed on the teacher facilitating learning and promoting independence. My overall aim is to inspire children to develop a life-long love of learning.
As much as I loved the role of Class Teacher, it was not long before I discovered my interest in working with students with Special Educational Needs.
I believe that every single student has the right to access an education that best meets their individual needs. I will always strive to provide the best possible provision for the students I work with. I have a breadth of experience of working in mainstream schools with children who have a range of additional needs from the Early Years Foundation Stage up to Year 6. I pride myself on my ability to build strong, positive relationships with each of the students and their families.
I have thoroughly enjoyed working in my role as SENCo/Head of Inclusion in both the UK and UAE. I am very much looking forward to meeting and supporting the students and families at NAS Dubai.
