primary teacher helping year 3 students in maths class

Emma Lea

Originally from a small town called Shrewsbury, I studied at Leeds Metropolitan University to gain a BSc (Honours) in Sports Coaching.

From there I completed my PGCE through the West Midlands Consortium. I am currently in my fourth year of teaching and so far in my career I have been fortunate enough to hold many positions such as a Head of House, Deputy Safeguard Lead and Head of Department for PE. Within my teaching I have had the opportunity to teach students from a wide range of backgrounds and it’s this that has given me the desire to now begin teaching at NAS Dubai.

I truly believe that I build a great rapport with students, staff and parents inside and outside the classroom. And it’s upon this that I see myself as more than just a teacher, but a role model for all students in my care.

I thoroughly enjoy the unpredictability, fast paced setting of a school environment. Seeing students learning and enjoying what they are learning from the praise of the teacher.

In my spare time I like to keep fit, socialise and enjoy playing a variety of sports particularly netball and rounders. I am really looking forward to starting at NAS Dubai, helping to build on its already successful PE department.
