PE, Head of Year 7

I joined NAS Dubai in 2018 and have thoroughly enjoyed the exciting challenges and opportunities I have so far experienced within the school and the PE department. As well as being a Physical Education Teacher I am also currently Head of Year 7.

My passion is to ensure the students are at the center of everything I do. Whether that be through my pastoral care or through my physical education lessons. Ensuring that every student is unique, receiving personalized care, guidance, and support. Whereby a team is around every child to ensure no student is left in the shadows.

I am originally from a small town called Shrewsbury, where I went on to study at Leeds Metropolitan University to gain a BSc (Honours) in Sports Coaching. From there I completed my PGCE through the West Midlands Consortium.

I am currently in my eighth year of teaching and so far in my career I have been fortunate enough to hold many positions such as a Head of House, Deputy Safeguard Lead and Head of Department for PE and Deputy Head of year 11. Within my teaching I have had the opportunity to teach students from a wide range of backgrounds and experience within UK National Curriculum in Key stage 2,3 and 4. As well as experience teaching GCSE and BTEC PE. The results attained from my teaching also demonstrates the positive impact learning and teaching can have on all students.

Here at NAS Dubai, I have been part of our recently very strong GCSE results and our PE curriculum from early years through to the 6th form. I am looking forward to being part of our newly formed A level program which is another exciting platform to add to our curriculum options for students.

Being part of the PE department also gives me great opportunities outside of the classroom to work with students. With a growing school I am looking forward to working with a lot more talented students within a variety of different sports through training and fixtures.

I thoroughly enjoy working as part of the NAS Dubai family with all students, staff and parent involved.
