I have a BEd (Honours) degree in Physical Education Teaching from The University of Edinburgh. I have been teaching for seven years and spent six of those years teaching in Dubai. I have taught a variety of primary and secondary aged students also teaching GCSE PE and BTEC Sport.
Outside of the PE curriculum I lead the Gymnastics programme which is one of my main sporting passions. This has stemmed from a young age and having the opportunity to compete at an elite level and to represent Scotland. I have spent the last 6 years building school gymnastics across Dubai through creating school competitions, which has allowed all ages and all levels to compete. This is something that has continued to grow and expand through the years and I am looking forward to continuing to develop the gymnastics provision at NAS.
My two biggest sporting achievements are ranking number 1 in the UAE for powerlifting in 2021 and representing Scotland multiple times in Gymnastics. I continue to stay fit and active by training in powerlifting and crossfit and have played for Tigers rugby team for the last two seasons. I thoroughly enjoy trying new sports and finding ways to stay active.
I believe all students should have the opportunity to access physical education in an enjoyable way to motivate them to continue to be physically active throughout life. I pride myself on the relationships I build with students and the lessons I teach making them both challenging yet enjoyable for all. I thoroughly enjoy being part of NAS Dubai and such an incredible PE department.
