Music has always played a very prominent part in my life as I was surrounded by musicians when growing up.  I am Northern Irish born and bred but took the plunge to move to Scotland to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.  I received my Bachelor of Music Education with Honours degree and majored in Piano, Voice and Composition.

As a Music Teacher for the Secondary sector and a Primary Music specialist, I have the ability and certification to teach all forms and areas of Music to students aged four to eighteen. The knowledge and skills gained from my classroom experience and Music studies have provided a solid foundation for my professional teaching career path, showing dedication, excellent time management and the ability to reason, negotiate and communicate to students the art of studying and making Music.  I enjoy developing and creating innovative and active learning/teaching materials for the Music and Performing Arts classroom.

Outside school I enjoy travelling and have spent in total six months working at 'Long Lake Camp for the Performing Arts' in upstate New York.  This was a fantastic experience which allowed me to teach both piano and voice and play keys for a variety of shows such as ‘Les Misérables’, ‘The Sounds of Music’ and ‘’Sweeney Todd’.  I am also heavily involved in performing on stage with an amateur dramatics group and have played the leading lady in various shows. Most recently I played the role of Cinderella in Sondheim's production of 'Into the Woods'.  I also have a love for Musical Directing shows and arranged music for the pantomime ‘Sleeping Beauty’ which was performed at a theatre in Glasgow, Scotland.  I look forward to bringing my experiences and skills to the NAS productions.

My husband is also moving to NAS and will be teaching Computer Science and ICT.  We are both very much looking forward to our move to Dubai and to have the opportunity to work in a fantastic school in the UAE.
