Throughout my career I have taken on the additional roles of implementing the IB Learner Profile and Year Leader. I am a passionate and nurturing teacher who encourages all students to reach their full potential by providing them with varied, interesting and differentiated lessons that cater for their different learning styles and needs. My enthusiastic teaching approach ensures that the students I teach are engaged and eager to learn. I strongly believe that humour helps build human connections and when students feel safe and secure within their environment, they feel more comfortable to explore and challenge themselves.
My interests outside of teaching involve travelling and experiencing different traditions and cultures. I have been fortunate enough to visit a number of countries whilst also living in the UAE. Immersing myself in the Middle East greatly increased my curiosity and interest in exploration of life in other cultures. I play for a senior ladies rugby team as a way of keeping fit, learning new skills and socialising.
My first international post was at BIS Abu Dhabi from 2012 to 2016 and I then made the decision to remain in the Middle East but moved to teach at a school in Dubai for a further four years.
I am proud to be a part of the Nord Anglia family because it is a global leader in international education. With its ‘be ambitious’ philosophy and emphasis on preparing students for a modern day world, I love that the students are at the heart of everything we do. You can tell that students are genuinely happy to be in school and I very much enjoy being a part of that.
