Joanna Harrison

Head of Year 1

Originally, I am from Portsmouth in the UK and I graduated from Plymouth University in the south of England. Before coming to Dubai, I taught for two years in Aldershot, England and have now taught at NAS Dubai for 5 years.

I will be going into my 4th year in Year 1 and I am excited to continue teaching this age group with our exciting curriculum. I am passionate about making learning active and engaging, making sure it is an enriching and relevant curriculum that children can be motivated by. I want to make sure the children are happy, independent learners and can access an inspiring learning environment.

Personally, I am an active person; I like to go to the gym and am always itching to explore and experience new things and places. I love travelling and experiencing different cultures and thoroughly enjoy living abroad and experiencing the different cultures that we share in the school and in the UAE.

Being part of NAS Dubai has been an exciting journey for me and I have enjoyed taking on new teaching challenges. I look forward to meeting my new class and having a fantastic team of Year 1 teachers next year!
