My studies began many years ago in my home town of Nottingham, where I read Sports Studies at Nottingham Trent University. As with all keen sports people I envisaged a career finding and developing the next generation of Premier League or IPL stars, so imagine my surprise that within a year of graduating I was working in the finance industry with credit giant, Experian.
Everything changed 12 years ago when I met my future wife and relocated to the other side of the world to Shanghai, China. I began by teaching English to a variety of age groups and was inspired to see the students enjoying their learning so much, thus I decided to complete my PGCE through Nottingham University and a lifetime vocation was started in earnest.
Our family, which now includes a 4 year old daughter, moved to Dubai 3 years ago after nearly a decade in China. We love the family orientated life the UAE offers and plan on staying for many years to come. I also love the golf courses, although the feeling does not seem to be mutual.
My teaching philosophy is constantly evolving but I will always endeavour to make learning fun and interactive, with a strong emphasis on giving the children a high level of ownership. I also make it a top priority that every experience has a purpose, which children can then take into their lives away from school.
