I knew from a very young age that I wanted to work children and become a teacher; I was inspired by my parents who fostered children.
I graduated from Edgehill University in 2007 with Qualified Teacher Status and spent the first year of my career working in the North West of England. After completing my initial year teaching in England, I relocated to the UAE as it was always a dream of mine to have the opportunity to work in an international school.
Initially I taught in international schools in both Key Stage 1 and 2. I joined Rashid School for Boys in 2014 as a Key Stage 2 class teacher and soon took on the role as Maths Subject Leader. I passionately believe that every child is entitled to receive the absolute best education within an environment that allows children blossom. I have taught students of different nationalities, cultures and religions and enjoy being able to inspire, support and observe students being successful. I particularly like spending time with students and learning about their interests and life outside school.
My international teaching career has been exciting, challenging and a fantastic learning experience. Working with professionals from around the globe has provided me with an extremely wide and diverse experience with extensive and ever continuing professional development.
