Back in my home town I taught Year 2 for 3 years before taking the exciting opportunity to teach Year 4 at Nord Anglia International School Dubai. I love working at the school, as I am always in awe of the opportunities that the children get to be a part of! I also run the World Scholars Cup programme for the Year 6 primary students, which has led to exciting opportunities to travel the world, whilst supporting children in their debating and writing skills.
I am very passionate about teaching and believe that all experiences at school should be exciting, enjoyable and meaningful. Through my teacher training and teaching positions I have been able to experiment with different approaches and strategies to support learning and always keen to learn more. Every year I am sure to adopt a personalised teaching style, taking into account the needs and interests of the individual children within the class.
I am a very enthusiastic and creative teacher and try to always make learning engaging and memorable. I encourage the use of talk partners, buddy groups and whole team approaches when completing a variety of tasks. This enables children to learn effectively whilst also supporting and encouraging their friends, so on a typical day in the classroom it will be filled with meaningful and engaging conversations. I am an extremely positive and happy person and I love to incorporate humour and fun to create a warm and friendly classroom environment.
I have a passion for music, dancing and performing and spent most of childhood on the stage in my local town! In my spare time I also love to travel, be it to neighbouring towns and cities or flying half way across the world. I enjoy experiencing different cultures, but most importantly sampling the local cuisine in every country I visit!
